What is June Sky?
We are are group of
Chicagoland high school students college students (MIT, University of Wisconsin, UC Berkeley) passionate about space exploration, innovation and change with the goal of bringing an interest in our future by pushing the boundaries of science and entrepreneurship. Inspired by the film October Sky, the groups aims to explore a variety of different aerospace projects including High-Alitude Testing weather balloons (HATs), solid fuel rockets, solar planes and more. These projects involve of a plethora of skills including microcontroller programming, 3D CAD modeling, advanced research, calculations and proper documentation techniques to bring what we do to the world. Our long term goal is to bring space back to the people – back to the youth – , to show that the universe beyond our atmosphere is just as relevant and quite a bit more interesting than the one within.
